Ah, this is one of those contemplative, middle of the night posts that you don't normally see from me. Anyway, I was just thinking. Don't we, as Christians, try so hard to recognize evil in the world and try to abstain from it? Yes, of course we do, that that is a GREAT thing. But I was just thinking that sometimes some people focus on trying to stay away from the bad things and focus on identifying them SO HARD that they forget about something very important.
ENJOYING THE GOOD.
I mean, recognizing what's wrong in the world is important, but sometimes I feel that some people focus on so hard, they almost forget about the good things God gave us. I mean, really, when was the last time you breathed in deeply, and just sat there thinking, "God this is beautiful." Not, "God, what can I change right now because I have to." Addressing the issues in our lives is so important, and it's our responsibility, I just feel that around me, sometimes people just focus SO MUCH on pinpointing the negatives and avoiding them, than recognizing the good and sticking with the good instead of worrying about the bad in our lives. I mean, if we stay with the good, the bad won't bother us!
I'm not saying "don't try to make a difference in any way" just..I don't know, I just feel that some of us maybe aren't getting as much enjoyment out of life as we could, you know? I just want you guys to be happy.
Ok, I have a challenge for you guys this week. I want you to go outside. Yes, I want you to brave the harsh New England Weather *coughDEALWITHITcough* and go find a tree. YES, I said a tree. I want you to think of five things that are good or beautiful about said tree, and how it could in any way help you. Shade, wood, etc. Just sit there or a few minutes and notice how the leaves cast their lacy shadows across the ground. Just take five minutes this week to enjoy the good.

I think you have a point, and I think there should be a balance. But I also think it depends on the person...hahah it's raining Meghan, I DON'T WANT TO GO OUTSIDE! Can I examine a tree from right here...at my computer...in front of a window?? =D
